SMART Temps®, located in Mishawaka, Indiana, was founded on the basis of its Leadership Team’s extensive experience with food safety management programs and temperature monitoring systems. SMART Temps was a spin off from the co-founder’s other successful business, SMART Systems.
SMART Systems: Co-Founder and President. SMART Systems began in 1993. The company offers school food service operators with solutions to food safety, sanitation and employee safety concerns. Company provides Sanitation and Safety Systems to over 1,500 schools with food service and custodial operations in Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio and currently employs over 20 people in the four state area. PortionPac Chemical Corporation: Vice President of Sales and Operations. Began as Eastern Regional Sales Manager then advanced to National Sales Manager and finally Vice President. *Note: https://portionpaccorp.com/solutions/sfspac/ was an idea I developed along with several other people prior to joining PortionPac. https://portionpaccorp.com/ The idea developed into a national brand. As a result, I was allowed along with my partner Mike McKay, to start SMART Systems and run the company while continuing to work for PortionPac. Left PortionPac in 2002 to join SMART Systems full time.
